kutna hora by food house you ever wonder what tony hawk’s youngest child is up to? well, it’s this. i saw these two freaks live last weekend and it was a blast, very excited for the new album from all the new songs they played. matter of time by umru and warpstr umru · Matter of Time this track is pretty much what you’d expect from a collaboration between these two: it’s rubbery, it’s got wacky percussion and laser sounds, it sounds an awful lot like SOPHIE and A.

night palace by mount eerie Night Palace by Mount Eerie night palace marks the first relatively-normal release in the mount eerie catalogue since the death of phil elverum’s wife from pancreatic cancer in 2017. that death was followed by the beautiful, heart-wrenching a crow looked at me, and the similarly death-focused now only, and then a collaborative record with julie doiron called lost wisdom, pt 2, a sequel to their lost wisdom collaboration from 2008.

my twee monsters by tracey brakes my twee monsters by tracey brakes tracey brakes is one of my favorite producers of the past few years, and one of the most innovative and brilliant to come in the mold of SOPHIE and 100 gecs. this is her first full length album, and it’s a blistering mix of hyperpop, dubstep, and a whole lot more. shake it like a (jane remover remix) by jane remover and frost children Frost Children · Shake It Like A (Jane Remover Remix) back in august, nyc hyperpop twins frost children released a very good single featuring danny brown.

Danny Brown by Femtanyl danny brown continues to have goated taste in collaborators and femtanyl continues to produce nonstop bangers. daredeviil2000 by babii DareDeviil2000 by BABii this is a babii solo album, but the vast majority of the tracks are produced by iglooghost, so it’s kind of a stealth sequel to XYZ but with babii’s name on it instead of iglooghost’s.

hey! this is coming out saturdays now. i realized that obviously a lot of music comes out on friday and i need time to listen to it before posting about it. verdant by saeph saeph · verdant porter robinson’s 2021 album nurture featured two instrumental tracks: wind tempos and dullscythe. three years later, these tracks have spawned an entire soundcloud microgenre of imitators called “botanica.” the botanica scene has a lot of artists like shameless.

gold by 2hollis i discovered 2hollis off the praise he recieved for his excellent third album boy, and he’s rapidly become one of my favorite artists working right now. he went on tour recently supporting ken carson, and i see why – he’s operating in a similar lane of highly distorted trap-adjacent music – but he easily blows ken and all the other carti clones out of the water. his vocal performances have a huge amount of emotional expressive range relative to his peers, and his production is way more innovative, blending trap with hardstyle and electroclash to make something totally unique.

gonna try and do posts like this regularly, maybe once a week or so? since this is the inaugural one i’ll include some music not from this week but from earlier this month that i’ve been enjoying. just.dansen by xaev just.dansen by xaev somehow i totally missed that almost a month ago xaev put out a new album. it’s got some uk garage, some jungle, and some electro house/complextro type stuff.
